Video: Canada throws its hat into U.S. presidential race

Vancouver-based political satirists The Canada Party has declared Canada’s intention to run for president of the United States in an election video posted on YouTube.

Yes, Canada … the entire country … running for president.

“We are once again declaring our candidacy for president of the United States of America. Not me, not Prime Minister centerfold but all of us … 34 million of the politest people you will ever meet working in shifts as your commander-in-chief,” actor Brian Calvert says in the video while skewering the U.S. over gun control, immigration, race relations and Donald Trump.

Calvert and creative partner Chris Cannon, the other half of The Canada Party, co-authored the book, The Canada Party Manifesto: America, but Better.
