Burnaby firefighters are battling two separate early morning fires that broke out in Burnaby.
In the first incident, Lt. Shane Johannson says firefighters received many calls about a blaze in the area of Kingsway and 13th Avenue at around 3 a.m. because the fire was close to apartment buildings.
However, he says the fire started in an abandoned commercial building on Kingsway behind fencing. The fire then spread to another commercial building but no residential buildings were damaged.
Fire investigators are on scene trying to determine a cause.
No one was injured.
About an hour later, Burnaby firefighters were called out to a house fire on Government Street near Lougheed Highway. It’s believed no one was in the house at the time.
