Two men arrested in connection with drive-by shooting last week in Sooke

RCMP on the Vancouver Island have arrested two suspects involved in a drive-by shooting that left two men seriously injured in Sooke last week.

A third suspect, Dustin Brown, was arrested Wednesday night and faces two counts of attempted murder using a firearm.

Police received information on Sunday afternoon that two other men wanted in connection with the shooting were hiding out in a home on Kirby Road in Sooke.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur said the arrests were made late Sunday night several hours after members of the Sooke detachment surrounded the home.

“At approximately 10:30 p.m., with the assistance of a police service dog, Josh LaFleur and the third suspect, a 21 year old male from Sooke, were located, hiding in a crawl space inside the home,” McArthur said.

Both men are in police custody and will appear in provincial court today, he said.
