The Vancouver Police Department is encouraging the public and business owners/operators to remain vigilant following this morning’s attacks in Brussels, Belgium.
Although the threat level in Canada remains at medium and there has been no specific threat to Vancouver or the Lower Mainland, the VDP will be deploying additional police resources throughout the city, following this morning’s attacks.
“We all have a role to play in keeping British Columbians safe,” VPD spokesperson, Sgt. Randy Fincham said in the release. “Vigilance is the key to everyone’s safety.”
Fincham says VPD will continue to work closely with our policing partners, including the RCMP, the Integrated National Security Enforcement Teams (INSET), the Metro Vancouver Transit Police and other municipal police agencies.
