For the second time this weekend, a man was shot in Surrey.
Mounties were on the scene Sunday night of the shooting in the intersection of 142 Street
and 64 Avenue.
The 911 calls came about 8:30 p.m. of shots fired in the 14200-block of 64 Ave.
“Officers attended to the scene and at the same time a male attended to area hospital with gunshot wounds,” Sgt. Steve Pebernat said in a news release. “Police have secured both scenes. A male is at hospital with serious injuries.”
He said investigators have learned that someone in a vehicle was seen firing into another vehicle. The suspect vehicle was a dark-coloured SUV.
“Officers are conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is a targeted incident,” Pebernat said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
