Abbotsford Police investigating double shooting

Two young men are in hospital in serious condition after a targeted shooting in Abbotsford Thursday night.

Abbotsford Police received several 911 calls about 9:20 p.m. reporting shots fired in the 33300-block of Hawthorne Avenue.

“When officers arrived they found two men, aged 22 and 21 years, at a residence in the area suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to hospital with serious injuries,” Sgt. Casey Vinet said in a news release.

He said the APD’s major crime detectives and forensic identification officers have been on scene throughout the night.

“It is not believed this shooting was random,” Vinet said.

So far, no suspects have been identified.

Anyone with information is asked to call 604-859-5225.

More to come.
