UPDATE: YVR says the technical issue has been resolved.
ORIGINAL POST: An airport-wide technical issue at the electronic check-in kiosks has led to long lineups at Vancouver International Airport today.
Airport officials are advising travellers to arrive an hour earlier than usual for departures as most airlines are conducting manual check-ins.
Reports from YVR say airline staff are writing boarding passes by hand.
A number of flights are delayed as the airlines deal with the problem.
There are no issues with arrivals.
From the YVR website: YVR continues to experience technical issues affecting check-in processes at the airport. There are a handful of delays between 20 and 40 minutes. We are working hard to resolve the issue and get our passengers to their next destination. We advise passengers to arrive at least one hour early if they are flying out of YVR today. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
