Vancouver Police dog calendar now on sale

Calendars featuring the furriest members of the Vancouver Police Department are being sold to raise money for the B.C. Cancer Foundation and the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The 2016 Vancouver Police Dogs Calendar, which features members of the VPD’s canine unit, is funded and produced by the Candy Anfield Memorial Foundation, which was created by retired VPD Sergeant Mike Anfield in honour of his wife Candy, a VPD officer who died from breast cancer in 2004.

The calendars are being sold for $10 each. The VPD says past calendar sales have raised more than $130,000 since 2007, including $30,000 last year.

Members of the canine unit will be holding a sidewalk sale in the next few weeks and the public will be able to meet both the dogs and handlers. They will be announcing the sale on VPD.ca, Facebook, and on Twitter @VancouverPD and @VPDCanine.
