Q & A with John Gallagher production illustrator for The Flash and more (with video)

John Gallagher is a super star production illustrator from Vancouver B.C. who has worked on numerous tv shows, such as CW superhero series The Flash, Minority Report, Once Upon A Time, Battlestar Galactica and more. I got to talk with John during day 2 of Fan Expo Canada. I actually met John 2 days before the start of the convention aboard an Air Canada flight: we sat next to each other, but did not chat. We were both fast asleep for the majority of the flight.

My first impression of John’s work was that it was uncanny like his online handle suggests he has an “uncanny knack” for detail. John’s illustrations are 100% digital although the finished product might look otherwise. Using a combination of software such as Photoshop, Sketchup, ZBrush, John’s attention to detail enables him to bring an illusion of reality to the screen. Check out this video interview with John.
