Round up: School boards and CUPE’s contract

Now that CUPE reached a tentative agreement with the government for a 3.5-per-cent wage increase, boards of education across the province will need to figure out how to pay for it. CUPE members still need to approve the agreement, which calls for a one-per-cent wage hike retroactive to July 1, a two-per-cent increase Feb. 1 and a 0.5-per-cent increase next May.
