Next month, the West Vancouver School District will be showing Girl Rising, a movie that tells the stories of nine girls from nine countries and shows how education can change lives.
The girls include Sokha, an orphan who lived in a garbage dump in Phnom Penh before becoming an accomplished dancer, and Ruksana, an Indian girl whose father makes major sacrifices so that she can achieve her dreams.
