Some gang-linked inmates in B.C. prisons have been unable to find placements at halfway houses — even when granted day parole, The Vancouver Sun has learned.
On Thursday, the Parole Board of Canada heard that convicted drug smuggler Kyle Gianis had been turned down by all the halfway houses in the Pacific region for re-release on day parole after he was arrested in May for a breach.
