Most school districts in the Lower Mainland are seeing enrolment drop, but Surrey schools are booming. The fast-growing city south of Vancouver is anticipating growth of 600 students in 2014-15, with growth of about 600 to 1,000 per year to 2021-22, Doug Strachan, Surrey school district’s manager of communications, told the Vancouver Sun last month. To accommodate rising enrolment, the city has plans for nine new schools or additions to existing schools, he said.
