Police find two bodies in East Vancouver home

Vancouver police are investigating after two people were found dead inside a home in East Vancouver.

Police were called around 10 p.m. Saturday to a house on Dieppe Place, a quiet residential cul-de-sac near Grandview Highway and Boundary Road.

Officers found a man and a woman at the home. They were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Vancouver police are releasing little information about the deaths. It is not known whether the victims lived in the house, if drugs or foul play were involved, or if police were searching for a suspect.

“At this time, investigators are not able to share any additional information,” spokesman Sgt. Brian Montague said in a news release. “Further details will be provided when appropriate.”

On Sunday afternoon, the house and the cul-de-sac remained behind police tape. About half a dozen police cars surrounded the house. Several investigators cleared away bush as they searched for evidence in the front yard.

Across the cul-de-sac, a group of young people could be seen watching the proceedings. Some were visibly upset. Others hugged and wiped away tears. They declined to comment.

Neighbours appeared to know little about the people who lived in the house. Most did not hear anything out of the ordinary Sunday night.
