Kamloops man wins PNE Prize Home

A lucky Kamloops man is the proud owner of the 2016 PNE Prize Home.

Dave Maw’s winning ticket was pulled out from a giant pile of tickets by Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson Monday. Maw was not immediately available to answer PNE president Mike McDaniel’s phone call to tell him the good news.

In a release, McDaniel congratulated Maw on his win — a 3,200 square foot three-bedroom house which will be relocated to a lakeview lot in Naramata in the Okanagan. The prize package, worth over $1.4 million, also includes the home’s furnishings, appliances, a hot tub and sauna.

More than 106,000 ticket sheets for the prize home were purchased by hopeful fairgoers in person and online. Revenue from the lottery funds a variety of programs at the PNE.
