A 29-year-old Maple Ridge man has been charged with second degree murder in the fatal shooting of Claude DeGuire outside the Haney Place Mall last week.
Edward Marke Antonsen appeared in Port Coquitlam Provincial Court Monday afternoon. He was remanded in custody until his next appearance on May 21.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound, of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, said the slaying was related to the local drug trade – possibly a dispute over territory.
