A disgraced Mountie charged for his conduct during the Surrey Six murder investigation has now quit the force after being accused in a recent theft case.
Derek Brassington voluntarily resigned Thursday, RCMP Chief Supt. Brian Cantera said in a statement.
The resignation came after a special prosecutor announced that a charge of theft under $5,000 had been sworn against Brassington May 1.
