The strong majority of British Columbians want public schools to teach about world religions. So why does it not happen more often?
A new Justason Marketing poll, commissioned by the B.C. Humanist Association, has found more than 77 per cent of British Columbians would like world religions taught in public schools.
That would mean providing courses covering Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Sikhism — and presumably a section on atheism and other non-theistic worldviews....
