One man is in hospital after he was stabbed during a fight on Granville Street early Saturday morning.
Vancouver police Const. Brian Montague did not have many details, but confirmed that a man was stabbed just after 2 a.m. on Granville near Davie Street.
Meantime, the Canada Day celebrations and fireworks went well in Vancouver and there were very few incidents despite crowds of more than 100,000, according to police.
Montague said even though the crowds were larger this year there were only three arrests.
One arrest was made under the Mental Health Act, and two people were arrested for intoxication in public and breach of the peace, he said.
The only other issue was a woman went into labor in a parking lot shortly after the fireworks. Montague said emergency crews were able to reach the woman in time and she was taken to hospital.
