The Vancouver School Board is asking the public for help to come up with new names for two schools.
The first school is Macdonald Elementary, an aboriginal focus school that is seeking a new name to more accurately reflect that program. The second is the new school at International Village downtown, which is slated to open next year.
Names should honour the historical and cultural heritage of the areas, recognize outstanding individuals, be reflective of the region or be significant to the geography. Vancouver does not name schools after people who are still alive.
To make a suggestion, visit www.vsb.bc.ca/schoolnaming before June 19.
