A busy Vancouver-area mall was evacuated Sunday due to a possible threat.
Droves of shoppers and mall employees were suddenly ushered out of the McArthurGlen outlet mall near Vancouver International Airport Sunday afternoon by security staff.
There was an unconfirmed report of a bomb threat at the open-air mall. Richmond RCMP have not yet said why the mall was evacuated.
McArthurGlen is saying little about the incident, referring inquiries to police.
In a brief statement it said: “Following a brief precautionary evacuation early today, Richmond RCMP have provided an all clear.”
The mall, which was shut down hours before its 7 p.m. closing time, will resume normal operations on Monday.
