Surrey police are asking for public help to locate two young girls, aged 10 and 12, who went missing from the 16100 block of 83rd Ave.
The two girls, Arwyn, 12 and Hayley, 10, are cousins and were last seen playing at a residential complex in the area around 5 PM.
When one of the girls’ mothers went out to call them to eat, she couldn’t find them. She started looking for them in the areas they frequently played in. Unable to locate the girls, she called the police.
Surrey RCMP also searched for the girls in the nearby areas but have not yet found the girls.
Search and Rescue has been called to assist in the search for the girls, Surrey RCMP spokesman M. A . Hedderson said.
Arwyn is described as a caucasian female who is about 4 feet and 11 inches tall, with a fair complexion, slim build and dark long hair. She was last seen wearing a long sleeve burgundy shirt and black tights.
Her cousin Hayley is also caucasian, fair, approximately four feet 11 inches tall with a medium to husky build. She has long light brown hair and was possibly wearing glasses. Hayley was last seen wearing a white long mesh sweater with black stars on it and black tights.
Police are are requesting public assistance to locate these two girls, and asking that anyone who may have seen the girls, or know of their whereabouts, to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers.
