Screams for help on Vancouver's West Side draw police attention Thursday night

Vancouver police are investigating an incident which led to a man screaming for help and what appears to be evidence of injury – but not the man himself.

Around 11 p.m. Thursday, calls to police from residents in the 2400-block West 14th Avenue in Kitsilano reported screams and a man banging on a house door.

There were also reports of a second man lurking in the dark, a Vancouver Police Department spokesman said in a release, as well as “a number of vehicles on the the street at the time of the incident.”

One vehicle is thought to be a silver Jeep Wrangler.

Evidence gathered at the scene by police has lead investigators to believe someone was “injured and was looking for a safe place to go.”

Anyone with information not yet relayed to the police is asked to call the VPD’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541.
