If you’re skeptical about going to Nihon Fest, it’s probably normal. After all, Vancouver is home to at least half a dozen Japanese-themed festivals and events such as Anime Revolution, Sakura Days Japan Fair, and Powell Street Festival. However, Nihon Fest promises to be an original event with modern Japanese themes.
“We don’t get to see that other side of that coin here, it’s always been the traditional side in the Japanese festivals . . . but rarely the modern young side of it, and that’s what we really want to bring to the community.=,” said Nihon Fest CEO and founder, Shinji Kaneko
Nihon Fest is a two-day event featuring popular themes of modern young Japan. Some highlights during the festival: Anime back drop set, gaming (sponsored by Bandai), theatre, cosplay dancers, Taiko, Lolita walk-off, maid cafe, auto expo, hype zones, models and more.
