Vancouver city councillor Melissa De Genova wants city staff to report each month on its progress and the costs of shutting down non-compliant pot shops.
Scores of marijuana dispensaries were ordered to close by April, but more than 60 continue to resist the order, according to the latest city data.
De Genova, a Non-Partisan Association member, sparked a motion slated for council next week that calls for staff to report their enforcement and legal costs and the number of fines they issue and collect.
The motion, which is slated for council next week, also asks staff to keep track of the number of new dispensaries that open each month.
