Mellow is not a word I’ve ever used to describe a B.C. Teachers’ Federation (BCTF) annual general meeting. But this year is different.
Missing is the fiery rhetoric that has been feature of BCTF AGMs during the dozen years I’ve attended. So, too, the angry voices and wild applause I used to hear from the hallways when the meeting went behind closed doors to discuss bargaining and political action.
It feels like a union waiting ...
