The B.C. Teachers’ Federation (BCTF) is facing financial difficulties but is not in crisis.
That was the message from the union’s treasurer, Rob McLaren, to the BCTF annual general meeting Sunday morning.
Cost pressures in recent years have included an abundance of court actions, including the decade-long challenge of a Liberal law in 2002 that reduced the scope of the union’s contract and ended the right to bargain class size and composition.
