Police are investigating two separate targeted shootings at homes in Metro Vancouver overnight.

Late Wednesday night, Vancouver police scoured an East Vancouver neighbourhood searching for suspects after shots were fired at a house.

VPD spokesman Const. Brian Montague says shortly before 10:30 p.m., witnesses called 911 and reported hearing shots being fired on Tyne Street near Kingsway.

He says police searched the area and found bullet casings and other evidence, but no suspects were located.

There were no injuries as a result of the targeted shooting.

Montague notes that this is the eighth shooting in Vancouver this year.

Meantime, in Delta, police were called to a residence for reports of shots fired at around 12:20 a.m. Thursday in the 7700-block of 117 Street.

On arrival, officers found the house had been shot multiple times. A short time later officers located a vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting.

Two men have been arrested.

Police say no one was injured in the targeted shooting. The people who live in the house are being uncooperative and are known to police.

Delta police acting Sgt. Sarah Swallow says police haven’t determined whether the shooting is related to the gang situation in Surrey. But she said they are working closely with Surrey RCMP on the case.
