Abbotsford police have arrested a man in connection with a robbery that sent an elderly woman to hospital in Abbotsford two weeks ago.
Police say thanks to numerous tips from the public officers arrested a 25-year-old man in the area of Maclure Road and Trethewey Street at around 9 p.m. Monday.
Investigators say the man has previous convictions for theft and drugs.
On the afternoon of April 14, an 89-year-old woman and her daughter were leaving a financial institution in the 32700-block of South Fraser Way.
As the elderly woman was getting into the passenger side of their vehicle, police say a man grabbed her purse and pulled her to the ground.
The suspect ran northbound from the parking lot. Several people came to assist the victim as her daughter called police.
The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of various injuries including scrapes and abrasions.
