An 89-year-old woman was pulled to the ground and injured during a purse-snatching incident in Abbotsford earlier this month.
The victim and her daughter were getting into their vehicle outside a bank in the 32700 block of South Fraser Way on April 14 when the robbery happened, according to a police press release. The suspect grabbed the older woman’s black purse and dragged her to the ground, then ran north away from the parking lot.
Several witnesses came to the victim’s aid while her daughter called police. The elderly woman was taken to hospital for treatment of cuts and scrapes.
Surveillance cameras captured footage of the suspect, who is described as a white man in his 20s with a thin build. He was wearing a blue Bench brand hooded jacket at the time of the robbery.
