Preliminary 2013-14 operating grants for B.C.’s 60 boards of education, released Thursday, total $4.7 billion – ranging from a high of $561,803,963 in Surrey, the largest district with an estimated 68,717 K-12 students, to a low of $5,496,631 in Stikine, the smallest with only 197 students.
