A man charged in the stabbing death of 35-year-old Trevor Johnson at a gas station in Abbotsford last year has pleaded guilty.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says 30-year-old Thavone Junior Carlson of Abbotsford, who was initially charged with 2nd degree murder in the death of Johnson, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Chilliwack Supreme court on Friday.
He has been sentenced to five years in prison and three years probation.
In February 2015, Abbotsford police was called to a local gas station after reports of a fight that led to a stabbing in front of the business.
Johnson died after a he was stabbed in a fight over what was determined to be an illegal drug transaction, according to IHIT.
