My Mortal Kombat XL experience began with a five hour binge which resulted in more than 51 rounds of single tournament fights. When I got tired of the tournament, I turned my attention to the tutorial feature and practiced the proper gaming controls.

What I liked about Mortal Kombat XL was that it was newb-friendly.  Using the tutorial feature, novice players could easily learn the controls. (see video below for game play footage) Click HERE to watch on mobile.

Marketed as the ultimate Mortal Kombat experience, the XL edition includes all the essential features of Mortal Kombat X, and all the content featured in the original Kombat Pack, and Kombat Pack 2. This edition features  brand-new  characters, such as Leatherface and the Xenomorph Alien, and as well as returning characters Triborg and Bo’Rai Cho. Characters from the original Mortal Kombat X is also included, like Jason, and Predator. A new Apocalypse skin pack is available as well as previous Goro, Brazil, Kold War, Samurai, and Kold War Scorpion skin of X.

Although XL is rich with new and extra Mortal Kombat content, the most memorable moments for me, are probably not new, such as the clever dialogues between characters, and the ability to utilize elements in an environment during a fight.

If Blizzard announced a similar product to Mortal Kombat XL for Diablo III, I would probably purchase it. Loyal fans of Mortal Kombat XL would probably really appreciate this product while new fans can experience “everything” in one product.

Mortal Kombat XL rated M for mature was released in North America for Playstation 4 and Xbox One on March 1, 2016. My copy of Mortal Kombat XL was supplied by Warner Bros. Games but gamers can purchase the game in North America for $69.99.
