More charges laid in investigation targeting Fraser Valley drug gang

Five more Chilliwack men are facing 50 charges in connection with a major investigation by Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit into a Fraser Valley drug trafficking organization operating in northern B.C.

The charges against Jordan Anthony Ramos, Dana Schaper-Kotter, Darcy Horvath, Lucas Benjamin Thiessen and Kyle Harrower were approved this week by federal prosecutors.

Earlier, well-known gangster Clayton Eheler and two associates were also charged in the case.

The investigation dates back to 2014.

In February 2015, CFSEU officers executed search warrants on two properties in Chilliwack. They seized eight firearms, prohibited magazines, silencers and more than $200,000 in cash. Also seized was over $2 million dollars worth of drugs, including a large amount of Fentanyl.

Thiessen, 22, and Ramos, 26, are charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Ramos is currently in custody in Grand Prairie, Alberta on unrelated charges.

Schaper-Kotter, 25, is charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and 12 counts of possession of a prohibited device.

Horvath, 23, is charged with nine counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and 12 counts of possession of a prohibited device.

Harrower, 25, is charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

“This investigation crossed the province and required a sustained and collaborative effort by our investigators,” CFSEU Chief Kevin Hackett said. “We remain steadfast and committed to relentlessly pursuing those who wish to bring harm to our communities regardless of where they are.”

B.C. Solicitor General Mike Morris said Fentanyl remains “an extremely dangerous drug that is proving to have widespread consequences in our province.”

“These latest arrests show that organized criminal groups don’t just operation in the Lower Mainland – their influence spans British Columbia.”
