Game review, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers for PS4 (with video)

WB Bros. Games sent me a copy of Lego Marvel’s Avengers for PS4 and after one night of playing the game, I was able to reach level 4 in just under 5 hours. This is an unusually poor performance for myself, as this is my second experience with a Lego title game. I’d expected by now that I should be used to the controls. Even though instructions for the controls are available in game and in the enclosed pamphlet, in practice the controls can still be challenging to even an experienced player. (see my video review below)

I feel there are too many buttons dedicated to toggling between characters and they can pressed by accident. The buttons for toggling are place near the top of the controller: Triangle, L1 and R2.

Some scenes did take me longer to clear, 30 minutes for example, but overall the scenes are entertaining once you solve the problem in place.

Although I didn’t like the interface, I did like the graphics and the over all dynamic of controlling more than one character. The special abilities of the different characters were also interesting to play, and very similar to the concepts in Lego Dimensions.

Bottom Line, If you are a huge fan of the Marvel movies and the Marvel universe in general, Lego Marvel’s Avenger might be the perfect addition to your collection.
