Chilliwack Mounties want the public’s assistance to solve three shootings over the Christmas holidays that are likely connected.
“The investigation was initiated after police received a report at approximately 7:00 a.m. on December 24, 2015 that a shotgun was fired at a residence in the 9900-block of Quarry Road,” Cpl. Mike Rail said in a release.
Mounties were called again early Boxing Day morning when “a suspect yelled as a shotgun was fired at a house in the 9400- block of Hazel Street,” Rail said.
Then on Jan. 2, about 7 a.m., a 911 call was made about a shotgun being used to fire at a home in the 45000-block of Rowat Avenue, he said.
“General duty officers supported by the General Investigation Support Team and Lower Mainland Integrated Dog Section immediately responded to the complaints,” Rail said. “Police were able to confirm the report and after completing a thorough search, the suspect was not found. ”
Investigators are working to identify the suspect.
“Police believe the incidents are linked and were targeted events,” he said. “Fortunately no one was injured in any of the incidents. RCMP are turning to the public for information regarding the shootings.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611.
