The megalodon of gaming conventions, Pax Prime 2015 just ended this past weekend in Seattle. It was my first time attending the four-day gaming expo in Seattle and I was very impressed. Please see the video below for highlights!
Line ups – My Pax adventure started with a 45 minute line up outside Washington State Convention Centre. I learned really quickly that line ups were part of the Pax experience and that it was unavoidable. Many seasoned Pax attendees bought handheld video game consoles to pass the time – a popular choice was the Nintendo DS.

Sword Coast’s Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) was the first game I manged to play after waiting a long time in line for admission. This role-play game is similar to Blizzard’s Diablo, but with a unique twist: Dungeon Master mode. The unique feature allowed one player to essentially become “God” by manipulating monsters in real time against other players. There was a special bonus that came with dropping by the D & D booth: the PAX Prime Pinny Arcade Belaphoss pin with black eco bag.

Although freebies were not the most important feature of Pax, however it was one of the greatest perks of attending the convention. Free swag is often obtained after completing a challenge or a game at a booth. Below is the loot I manage to earn while filming and gaming!

Another important highlight of Pax for me was winning the Logitech #gteam competition! Although I have no idea what I’d won, I am still very happy to be a winner! (follow me on twitter: @proxydata)

Another exciting exhibit was Sony’s Project Morpheus. I found the stylish virtual reality peripheral for the PS4 was really amazing, despite getting motion sickness after 15 minutes into the game Battle Zone, which was like a stylish Tron-inspired battle tank game. The controls were straight forward for a tank game, compared to the War Gaming’s World of Tanks game. The field of view was constantly smooth on the Morpheus, as I can look up down, left and right with no lag or hesitation.

The Oculus rift was also at Pax, unfortunately the line was extremely long for all 4 days of the convention and I never got to try it.

For all four days of the convention, I stayed mainly within the expo hall area. Here are some of my favourite booths:

Dispute the many exciting and late-night events at Pax, my favourite was getting my SundayPax pass signed by pro gamer “Faker” the League of Legends superstar at the MSI booth. Check out this raw video of Faker in action. Faker was so popular that his sharpie marker ran out during signing!
