For parts of two weeks in April, the Georgia Viaduct, the eastbound span that leads out of downtown Vancouver, was closed to traffic to accommodate the filming of Deadpool, a Marvel comicbook movie starring Ryan Reynolds.
The fruit of our inconvenience is now on display in Deadpool’s Red Band trailer. The Georgia Viaduct is the site of a gory shootout.
Now before clicking play on the video below, please note that “Red Band” means this trailer is recommended for mature audiences only. It contains nasty language and some graphic violence.
Deadpool, whose titular character is a foul-mouthed mercenary with a sociopathic streak, will be an R-rated release.

Deadpool fights Colossus on the Georgia Viaduct.
If you can handle some salty language and blood splatter, you’ll see that Colossus, another Marvel character, is also featured in the trailer. Colossus, who was portrayed by Vancouver/Squamish actor Daniel Cudmore in the X-Men movies, is played by 6-foot-10 Vancouverite Andre Tricoteux in Deadpool.
